about

Approaching the inmost cave. Our fears. Our memories. Our crippling doubt. Shit gets a little too real sometimes and it leaves us feeling lower and lower with time. Many let their afflictions drown them in a deep depression, while others turn their buckets into planters. Some feelings are unavoidable. Some things are genetic. Sometimes we’ll get triggered by seemingly nothing at all. It will overwhelm us and freeze us into thinking we are less than what we are. We are better than what our mental illnesses lead us to believe. It’s okay to be alone sometimes. It’s okay to say no. It’s okay to reach out and ask for help. People do care about you. Your brain is just mean sometimes. You just have to keep going when shit gets rough, but know when to step back when it gets too much. Hang in there. It’ll be okay. This song is sonically inspired by Radiohead, Tesseract, and Flying Lotus.

lyrics

Lost in a trance
I see myself below, daydreaming
Batteries drain,
I’m fraying, decaying

Lotus Eaters, Lotus Eaters
Bathe me in sin
My mind in stasis
My body stands still
Lotus Eaters, Lotus Eaters
Is this a dream?
I’m waking in cycles
The needle, it skips
(O-gy-gi-a) x6

I’ll say a prayer
Staring at the mirror, for nothing
Going nowhere
I’m waiting, I’m staying

Lotus Eaters, Lotus Eaters
Give me a swig
I don’t like the real world
Please take me away.
Lotus Eaters, Lotus Eaters
I’m losing my head
I’m thinking in circles
The cycle must break
(O-gy-gi-a) x6
